Prof. Dr. Stefan Collignon

    Stefan Collignon member of the executive board of the Maleki Corporate Group. He has been teaching at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa since 2009 as Professor of European Political Economy and is Senior Research Fellow at the London School of Economics (LSE) where he also taught from 2001 to 2006. In 2007 and 2008 he was a professor at the Government Department at Harvard. His research focus is the economic governance of the EU, the interaction of monetary, fiscal and wage policies in the euro area, as well as international economic relations, especially with Asia. As a speaker, he often visits international conferences on European topics.

    From 1999-2000 Stefan Collignon worked as Sub-Head of Division (Europe) at the Federal Ministry of Finance and from 1989-1998 as Director for Communication and Research at the Association for European Monetary Union in Paris. Born in Munich in 1951, Stefan studied in Berlin, Paris, Dar-es-Salaam, Oxford and London, and completed his habilitation at the FU Berlin in 1999, frequently as a visiting professor in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris, as well as in Beijing and Bangkok.

    His previous professional career took him to the First National Bank in Dallas, Paris, and to the German Development Service in Tanzania. From 1980 – 1989 he was Chairman and Managing Director of Dorcas Ltd. London and 1998-2005 Board Member of Glunz AG and Sonae Industria SGPS, Portugal.
